Data we hold
For each name: the registrant contact supplied by the registrar, the nameservers and DNS records, and an audit trail of changes. For registrars: account and billing contacts.
Why
To operate the zone, provide WHOIS/RDAP as described in the WHOIS policy, handle transfers and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Retention
Registrant data is kept for the life of the registration and for a limited period afterwards for audit and dispute purposes.
